In order to get insight into interesting flow phenomena, computational fluid dynamics simulations became a common tool. A typical simulation work-flow consists of setting up and computing the flow field followed by a consecutive post-processing analysis. Since this sequential pattern comes to long iteration times, online monitoring and computational steering approaches are used to steer simulations and change parameters already during simulation run-time. The presentation will provide an overview of the domain-specific computational steering module FSSteering. This module is developed to support interactive visualization and explorative analysis on distributed systems utilizing different parallel post-processors and high-performance virtual reality systems.
